From Ken Scott

..."Although I enjoy the challenge of capturing the dignity and the struggle of individual creatures in bronze, this dimension (wall sculpture) gives me an opportunity to design and capture nature's fullness on an epic scale of horizon and vista...

" ..."Few people ever get to develop even one of the wonderful gifts in their lives, much less the many they know, or suspect, are stirring within their souls. The demands put upon us by circumstances, and the limitations that are self-imposed, can very easily keep us from tasting the joys of self-worth through self-expression."

" Achievement comes by hard work, perseverance, and the grace of God. The God of Love and Grace is to be thanked for making the miracle of creativity possible and for blessing these efforts..."

FAQ's

Materials Used:
High quality steel (approx. 1/8 inch in thickness) that has either been treated with heat or various oxidizing agents to bring out the natural colors inherent in the metal. Brass and copper plating may also be used for certain scenes... Grinding, polishing, and burnishing also create various highlights and tones.

Equipment Used:
Each of these sculptures is crafted by hand... using Oxygen/Acetylene, theremal-arc cutting torches, welding processes and grinders. There are no computerized short-cuts, or lasers used in this process.

Handling:

REMEMBER, the color is IN the metal... scratch the metal... lose the color! Avoid scratching pieces when unpacking or transporting. Keep all pieces separate! Do not stack... rub together, or lay face down. A durable lacquer finish is applied to prevent tarnish. To clean, use a soft, damp cloth followed by a dry one. Dust with a feather duster.

Displaying:
Incandescent lighting brings out colors not seen with daylight or a flourescent source. The wall should be light enough to contrast the colors in the sculpture. Displaying outside is not recommended unless a rust finish is desired.

Cleaning:
A lacquer finish is applied to prevent tarnish and rust. To clean, use a soft damp cloth followed by a dry one. Dust with a feather duster.

Are the Wall Hangings One of a Kind?

In essence, yes they are! Each piece is produced by hand from start to finish, and should be regarded as a study on a particular theme. Even though the designs will be repeated, the sculptures evolve as new processes and techniques are developed...

The freedom of the artist's cutting torch, is paramount for artistic expression. "These pieces are not like prints from paintings which can be reproduced by the hundreds with ink and paper, according to set formulas, and all in a single day...

"A bonus for all concerned (customer, artist and the final product) is that we take advantage of what is happening before our eyes. If we produce100 or more of these over a period of several years, the final piece will reflect the new discoveries and techniques that have evolved..."

They really are one of a kind, and each piece speaks to the veiwer with its own voice.

Combining of Sculptures:
Allows you to create an even larger scene for your wall...
add tree-components, a moon in gold or silver, add a mountain… it's up to you.
