“Flippin Out”
Ken Scott is the Valley River Inn’s
own resident sculptor/ artist, proudly
displaying numerous works
throughout
the hotel. Including
steel wall hangings
depicting trees,
mountains, and wildlife;
statuary in
cast bronze, and fascinatingly
beautiful
metal lamps and chandeliers.
Ken is the owner of the River Run
Gallery and Sculpture Garden located
approximately thirty minutes from
the Valley River Inn on
Highway 126...
a beautiful
drive through rural farm
lands and along the scenic,
nationally protected
McKenzie River.

“Japanese Maiden” |
The Gallery is a restored,
two-story farm house featuring
not only more of Ken’s
work,
but up to forty other
Oregon artists.
A wonderful
collection of blown glass,
original paintings, jewelry,
unusual |
and a variety of garden art in
bronze,
stone, wood and steel.
The splendor of the McKenzie River
Valley with its foaming whitewaters,
ancient forests, mountain lakes, and
some of the most stunning scenery
in the northwest is an added bonus! |
furniture, and perfect
gift items make
the drive
worthwhile.
The Sculpture Garden is a“work
in progress,” intended
as an
events center for weddings
and
small
conferences.
Presently
there is
a large
gazebo of iron
and stone
that
has five fountains
and is
crowned with a salvaged
(and
restored)
twenty-foot
diameter
stained-glass
church
dome from the eighteenth
century.
Within a gentle
stone’s throw
from
the gazebo
there is an early
1900’s
church steeple (trucked
all
the way
from Wausau,
Wisconsin).
Constructed
of
zinc and tin and
overlaid
onto a wood
frame by
master
craftsmen of old, this
spire has withstood an entire century of
Wisconsin winters. Trees, paths,
flowers and plants make the River
Run Gallery a perfect place for a
picnic
or a stroll to see other fountains |
